Cashless and keyless with HOBOband

Introduced by Helmsman at Leisure Industry Week - and attracting a great deal of interest - was HOBOband, a cashless and keyless access and locker system.

"It's really simple", says managing director Anne Rivett. "Leisure and sports customers register their debit or credit card at reception on arrival, then are given a wristband to wear which allows them to use their lockers, access authorised areas such as the pool or spa and pay for treatments or drinks and snacks.

"This means that integrated security is improved, as is cash leakage. We also feel that end users will enjoy having just one wristband to wear leaving their hands free from keys, swipe cards, wallets, purses etc."

HOBOband, named, says Helmsman, for the stress free life it offers away from keys, cash and responsibilities, comprises of one chip in a waterproof wristband.

The wearer offers their wrist to a scanner when wishing to enter an area such as the pool, opening a locker or paying for goods or services and the HOBOband does all the hard work.

The introduce the new system to the UK, Helmsman is working with n-tree solutions Ticketsysteme GmbH. The Austria-based ticketing solutions and access control company has already worked with several leisure sites and ski resorts throughout Europe. Helmsman is n-tree's UK distributor.
